Lead a High-Quality Children’s HomePeople House Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of an established children’s residential care provider seeking an experienced Registered Manager to lead a 3-bed Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD) children’s home in Dagenham.This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Registered Manager who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.You’ll join a supportive organisation that values quality, invests in its people, and offers genuine opportunities for career progression as the business continues to grow.
The Role
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the day-to-day management of the home.
- Ensure full compliance with the Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.
- Promote outstanding safeguarding practice and positive outcomes for children.
- Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing staff team.
- Oversee care planning, risk assessments and behaviour support plans.
- Manage referrals, admissions and placement matching.
- Monitor quality through audits, action plans and continuous improvement.
- Prepare for and lead Ofsted inspections.
- Build positive relationships with Local Authorities, families and external professionals.
- Manage budgets, staffing and operational performance.
Essential Requirements :
- Previous experience as a Registered Manager within an Ofsted-registered children’s home.
- Must have previously managed an Ofsted-registered home under your own URN (Unique Reference Number).
- Experience supporting children with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD).
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of safeguarding, Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted requirements.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable :
- Previous Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
- Experience developing and improving residential services.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed and therapeutic care models
